Anna Shneidman appointed as Managing Director of KIBST

The Harvard Kavli Institute for Bionano Science & Technology (KIBST) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Dr. Anna Shneidman as their Managing Director, effective March 1, 2018.

Anna will introduce new initiatives to Harvard’s Kavli Institute, with a focus on establishing multidisciplinary collaborations among Harvard’s wide range of researchers. Anna will report directly to KIBST co-directors, Professors Joanna Aizenberg and George Whitesides.

Kavli Postdoctoral Fellowships at Delft, the Netherlands

A postdoctoral fellowship program has been established for quantum-bio projects at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience Delft (KIND). KIND Postdoctoral Fellows are high-profile, two-year postdoctoral positions with significant independence and resources. The KIND Postdoctoral Fellows program is designed to attract the best and brightest young researchers in nanoscale science to Delft. Fellows will work in partnership with Delft faculty on a nanoscience project that involves both quantum and biological nanoscience research at KIND. The Kavli Foundation Gives $10.5 Million to the National Academy of Sciences to Establish Fred Kavli Endowment Fund

The National Academy of Sciences announced today that it has received a $10.5 million gift from The Kavli Foundation to establish the Fred Kavli Endowment Fund, which honors the late physicist, entrepreneur, innovator, business leader, and philanthropist.  To recognize Kavli’s generous and unwavering support for science, the auditorium of the historic National Academy of Sciences Building will be renamed the Fred Kavli Auditorium.  A portrait of Fred Kavli and a commemorative plaque will be unveiled at the NAS annual meeting, which will take place April 29-May 2....
