Kavli Koffee Hour

The Kavli Koffee hour is a weekly meeting that aims to bring together experimentalists and theorists from around Harvard to discuss current research. Unlike usual seminars, speakers are required to talk about something that they do not understand. The number of slides are severely limited--up to 2-3 powerpoint slides are allowed, though more can be used if negotiated beforehand with the students and postdocs who run the seminar. The seminar is characterized by vigorous interchange between experiment and theory, and it is not uncommon that new research directions or new ideas for old ones are uncovered during the meeting.
